Freddie Jackson was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As an adult, he lived in San Francisco, California where he really began to get into jazz music. He worked as a postmaster for most of his career, working in California, New Jersey, and Virginia.
Freddie moved to Las Vegas with his wife about 10 years ago and started volunteering at KUNV answering phones. The general manager of the station asked him if he had ever considered becoming a DJ. At first he hesitated but since he loved the music so much, he decided he would give it a shot. He has been on the air now for around four years. His favorite jazz performers are Gene Ammons, Oscar Peterson, and Ricky Woodard.
Freddie and wife have two Maltese dogs, Pierre and Dominique.
