John and his wife Judy moved to Las Vegas from Los Angeles in 1997 and have called it home ever since. They share their abode with their "Fur Person" ( dog) Annie, and three birds - two mini parrots named Buzz and Holmes and a Cock-a-tiel named Slick.

John "Dr.Duck" Duck is probably best known as the creator of the worlds greatest guitar cleaning, moisturizing and polishing formula - "Dr.Ducks Ax Wax & String Lube"and his line of guitar strings and guitar and music accessories to the global guitar community.

He published "The Musicians Copyright Notebook Kit", "The Ultimate Musicians Promo Notebook Kit" and ""One Page Nashville Number System /Fretboard Chart/Music Theory Guide"

John started playing guitar during the "Folk/Hootenanny" and "Surf Music Instrumental" era of the early 1960's and has been playing ever since. His band, Dr.Ducks Prescription, plays local gigs and John often sits in at some of the jams around town as well.

You may also recognize his voice as one of the announcers of downtown "Las Vegas' Fremont Street Experiences' Viva Vision", the largest light show in the World, and also as the voice of the "Howdy Partner Vegas Vic" 75 foot neon sign that stands right next to the Pioneer Club in downtown Las Vegas inviting the whole world to come on out to the "Wild West" and party.

John started professional voice work in 1972 as a "Yak" in the boiler rooms of Hollywood selling industrial supplies, tools, automotive and farming chemicals and has been stepping from one movie into the next one ever since, including public speaking, voice-overs as well as on-camera work in various corporate promotional and instructional videos.

John stays active in the Voice Acting/Voice Over arts and was elected president of Media Guilds International in 2005 and again in 2007. Media Guilds International is a voice acting/voice over workshop that meets every Wednesday and studies, works out and expands on the art of the spoken word. MGI also contributed the "Laugh Break" series of 2 1/2 minute skits for KUNV and can be heard as some of the character voices in the various skits as well as being the co-host of the series.

John approached David Reese the general manager and "The Captain" of K U N V during the original production of the "Media Guilds International and K U N V Presents Laugh Break" series and told David of an idea he had been working on for years - "A weekly one hour celebration of guitar players and guitar music in general, from the very best players known in all different genre, decades and generations of music with commentary, quotes, historical perspective and trivia on the evolution of guitar playing tying it all together".

Dave said he was interested and to put something together and that he didn't know of anyone who had anything like it on the radio. Duck said he would start focusing on it and present him a few scores and scripts for the show and that it would need to be pre-recorded so he could syndicate it.

After close to three years in the making, we are proud to announce that "Dr. Ducks Guitar Prescription Radio Show" is now playing on K U N V every week at midnight Sunday and is also available globally thanks to a number of radio stations carrying the show. These stations broadcast via conventional air waves and "stream" on the world wide web.
